Resources for Educators

We’re working on these pages; they will morph and change and become substantive over time. There will be a place for you to add your thoughts as well, on how you teach Countdown or Ruby, or Freedom Summer, for instance. There is already a good bit about Countdown on the Countdown page. More to come –

Countdown was terrifically fantastic, exciting, sensitive, beautiful…I loved sharing it with my students…a year ago! When will the second one be ready? I’ve been waiting! I’m guessing this one takes place in ’68?
Thankful for your gifts, one of them being perserverance in researching.

Thanks, Cathy. I’m delighted to hear you’re sharing Countdown with your students. We’re collecting resources here. If you want to share what you’ve done, get in touch, and we’ll figure out how to best showcase what you did with the book.

Book two takes place in 1964 during Freedom Summer in Greenwood Mississippi. It’s scheduled for 2013. In the meantime, Countdown will be available in paperback in April 2012! Thanks for your kind words.
