The Sixties Trilogy

We’re working on these pages; they will morph and change and become substantive over time. There will be a place for you to add your thoughts as well, on how you teach Countdown or Ruby, or Freedom Summer, for instance. There is already a good bit about Countdown right here. More to come –

I was truly excited to see the link for a playlist from the book – as the kids did not know that much of what they were reading was lyrics from actual songs and I thought it would really enhance the experience and understanding. I searched for the author site for just this reason. But I was very disappointed about the $40.80 price tag. So much for that idea.

W, try searching for the songs on YouTube — you can find most of them there, and can enhance the teaching/learning experience in that way and not spend a penny. I know the iTunes price tag is hefty. Legally, the tunes don’t belong to me, so they must be purchased and downloaded. You can download individual songs from that playlist as well, say, if you want just one or two that you can’t find on YouTube (such as Cassius Clay’s poetry or the JFK speech, etc.). Hope this helps.
